What is it that annoys you?

Sometimes we have things in our life we put up with. Little annoyances. I would almost call them micro-stressors. They aren't the worst things in the world but every time they happen or we are reminded of them, they put us in a bad mood or annoy us.

The problem is, they add up to a low grade feeling of stress that is hard to pinpoint because it's a bunch of little things. When I feel like this and can't quite put my finger on what it is that's bothering me - I tackle the little things.

So here is a easy way to do that - make a list of everything that annoys you/stresses you out. Then pick just one thing that you can fix easily (ie a light bulb, a squeaky door, a cabinet that is messy & drives you crazy). And fix it.

I know it doesn't seem like much but tackling the little things does add up. As you go through the little things/tackle the low hanging fruit, it gets easier to look into ways to fix the bigger issues that are looming.

Think about it this way - when you do this exercise you are listening to your needs and honoring them. And of course every time you open that drawer, turn on the light etc, you won't be annoyed.
