People Pleasing Hides The Real You

A while ago I posted on social media “people pleasing hides the real you”. Some people were confused so I thought I’d elaborate on what I meant:

If you put all of your energy in making everyone else happy, it’s difficult to have the energy to also pay attention to your own needs. In fact, I would argue that you put your needs aside when you are trying to please others. And more often than not, you also hide who you truly are because you are fitting into the mold of what you think makes the other person happy.

However, it is completely possible to be kind to others while having strong boundaries and honoring yourself. When you do this, you can help many people AND be true to yourself.
