When you have been working on your mindset but you are having a hard time getting a new way of thinking to stick, one thing you can say is "It is safe for me to...". I learned this phrase from Denise Duffield-Thomas who is a money mindset coach and it's been so helpful for me.
This is really good to use if you have beliefs from your childhood or young adulthood that kept you from doing things because you had limiting beliefs about yourself, were scared, nervous, or it didn't feel safe emotionally.
For instance, if you are trying to learn how to create better boundaries, you could say to yourself: "It is safe for me to say no"
Here are some more ideas:
"It is safe for me to be myself"
"It is safe for me to let go of stuff that doesn't serve me"
"It is safe for me to step away from activities that no longer make me happy"
When working on this, it's important to know that changing your thought pattern isn't going to happen overnight. So if this resonates with you and you would like to try it, I'd suggest picking one "It's safe for me to..." sentence and say it to yourself for a few days and see how you feel. Do you feel more comfortable with the new thought?
*9/25/24 update - When working 1 on 1 with clients, I sometimes will have them use this phrase when we declutter a room depending on their situation. This is most helpful for people whose homes felt chaotic before we started and then became calm when the room was sorted.
If you want to clear the chaos in your home but feel stuck, I've created a FREE download of the decluttering system I teach just for you. This will help you declutter in a simple, manageable, and achievable way. Click here to download it today
