Connecting to your authentic self to clear up your schedule

If you are overwhelmed because your calendar is filled with appointments, meetings and events and you feel like you don't have control of your daily life - this is for you. I have been talking a lot about connecting with your inner self/authentic self and how much it can change your life. Let's get more more specific on how this can help your schedule.


In order to do this, you need to set aside some time just for yourself. No distractions - I know that's easier said than done but if you can find a quiet time/space you'll get more out of it. Then you need look at your schedule for the next three months. Make a note/write down when one of the appointments fits one of these:

  • You signed up for it out of guilt

  • You always feel rushed when you get there/are usually late because of other appointments

  • It doesn't align with who you really are

  • You are angry before you go to the appointment (if it's recurring)

  • You have to motivate yourself to go/you are dreading it

Sit with this for a bit and really think it over (journal if that works for you). How do you feel about these tasks/appointments? If you could let them would you feel? Are you the only person responsible for them? After you have gone through it - what's the best thing for you? Is it to decline? To reschedule? To find someone else to do it? To find a way to do it and enjoy it?
